Dear Dr. Roy,
Last night while eating dinner I broke the right paramedian section of my upper complete denture, and when I began to seek assistance this morning in arranging a repair, I found that the maximum time which which was quoted to me by several dental offices was at least 24-26 hours in the lab, and this involved just delivering the broken denture without any dental evaluation.
I then remembered having seen some rather striking marketing presentations presented in the local media and having to do with your dental group and immediately made telephone contact. Your receptionist was very courteous and professional, consulted briefly with someone in your office and then told me to come immediately to have the matter assessed and addressed.
On arrival at your clinic I was very impressed with the available parking space, the large plants, the well appointed waiting room, the special play area for children, and the large number of patients waiting to be see. Though the staff seemed quite large, everyone was busily engaged in his or her particular responsibility, and there was a type of quiet urgency about everything that went on under my observation from the vantage point of your waiting room.
I was impressed that the members of your staff who handled the numerous telephone calls were courteous, business-like, and quite efficient in their matter of explanation, making of appointments, arranging for questions to be answered, and offering an explanation concerning some of the technical aspects of patient inquiry.
Though I did have to wait for a while, this did not seem unreasonable in view of the fact that I had no appointment, and the heavy patient load that was being managed immediately was for those who had already made arrangements for timed appointments.
When I was called to an examination room I was treated with courtesy and sympathy. An immediate assessment was made of the damaged / broken denture and it was whisked away to the in-house laboratory and returned in less than an hour in a condition comparable to when it was brand new! Further, I was not charged for this service and was immediately able to return to my own medical practice to tackle the long line of problems that had accumulated during my absence.
I would particularly like to commend Kathy for the manner in which she dealt with me and the courtesy and professionalism of ALL the members of your staff that I saw doing their jobs with such efficiency and attention to detail.
You have every right to be proud of the operation that you have put together in your dental clinic, and you can be certain that I will give a favorable verbal and personal testimony to any person with whom I have occasion to recommend dental services. Because I saw that you do have treatment appointments available on Saturdays, I asked for some of your referral cards in order that I might put these in the hands of those of my patients who do not already a dentist, and who require urgent dental services, particularly if these occur on a Saturday. I do not believe any other treatment facility is available in Lafayette, Louisiana on a Saturday without emergency arrangements. I will certainly encourage anyone given your business card to call your office for an appointment unless urgent and immediate care is needed, in which case they can explain this need to the person answering your office telephone.
Again, my sincere thanks for the manner in which I was given care and the professional courtesy that was extended.
